Financial development has been a key component of growth, and can be a powerful mechanism for reducing poverty. In the case of economic development we have identified two main obstacles that villagers have experienced on the path to become self-reliant:
- Inability to access markets due to a lack of initial resources and proper training.
- Lack of ownership of key steps of the value chain
In response to this challenge we decided to start CHOICE Ventures, a for profit arm to invest on different ways to help communities access markets and find the right resources and training that will enable them to become self -reliant.
