> Project & Community Details
Activities in the village:
Gain an in-depth understanding on the role and value of the Sikaab'e Vocational Center, including connection with past and current local students, its role in the community, outcomes related to their self-sustaining farm programs, etc.
Participate in meaningful construction work hand-in-hand with community members, including work on a new employee housing unit onsite at the vocational school, school repair/reconstruction in the communities, and stove repair/reconstruction. This would involve cement work, brick moving/laying, digging, etc. (Specific details coming soon pending 2020 project finalization.)
Participate in focused trainings, including Days for Girls & Men Who Know (the men's equivalent of the Days for Girls training), peer-to-peer exchanges and classes with local high school students
Build relationships through intercultural exchange with community members through the various activities listed above.
> Expedition Fees
Incorporating the additional hotel nights, regular student discount from CHOICE and the responsibilities the teacher chaperones provide, we have settled on a rate for students of £3700. That fee is all-inclusive and covers all of the in-country transportation, lodging, meals, project support, expedition leadership, the additional tour component, the at-cost component and stipends of the staff travelling with the students and sundry expenses, etc.
Payment should be made on Parent Pay https://www.parentpay.com/ with an initial deposit of £400 due by February 14th 2020 to secure each place. Full payment must be made by May 1st 2020.
